Graduate applications are open. Per HBKU, scholarships are competitive — awarded on merit or financial need and available funds, and reviewed annually.

Eligibility

• Meet the admission requirements of the chosen programme
• Valid passport
• Good grades in previous studies

Academic requirements

• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0 from a recognized university (most programs)
• Bachelor's for master's, master's for PhD, in a relevant field
• Some PhD programs require the GRE

Language requirements

• IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 79 (max 2 years old)
• Possible exemption: studied in an English-native country, or official medium-of-instruction letter
• Translation programs: test mandatory, no exemption
• Some Islamic Studies programs accept a lower level

• Electronic copies of official transcripts (non-English/Arabic need official translation)
• IELTS/TOEFL score (TOEFL code 4981)
• Referee details

• Merit- or need-based awards subject to available funds
• Reviewed annually based on academic progress
• Note: no scholarships for international students in CIS graduate certificate programs
